It was announced yesterday to the cast that Robert Hardy, who plays Churchill, (better than ANYBODY else), is to retire from the The Audience. DAMN & BLAST !!!!!
One of my reasons for doing the show was to be on the same stage as him. I suppose that has happened. I have acted, sort of, with Sir Winston Hardy, (or is it Sir Robert Churchill?), and that is something. My Darling Dad did too, many decades ago. My Dad played Hamlet and Robert (Tim, to those close) played the Player King, I think at Drury Lane, very briefly, before going on tour around America with the OUDS production. The Oxford University Dramatic Society. Directed by the extraordinary Ken Tynan. In many ways Tim reminds me of my Dad, in his acting. We have chatted about both my parents in such a lovely way that they have felt very close during these last few weeks. I am so grateful for that.

I wish I had been able to keep you all up to date with recent events. Time has been rather pushed and when I have had a moment a computer hasn't always been at hand. SO. THE AUDIENCE.
If any of you get the chance to come and watch it, DO. It has some really fabulous performances in it. Spearheaded by the HEAVENLY HELEN. Sounds silly, but I am still looking for the chink in this woman's armour. She's wonderful. She is a spectacular actress. AND she's human.

Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian written by Eoin Colfer, narrated by Nathaniel Parker and produced by Listening Library, won The American Library Association's Honor Odyssey Award among two other audio productions.
The first prize went to "The Fault in Our Stars" written by John Green, narrated by Kate Rudd. The two other honorary awards go to "Ghost Knight" written by Cornelia Funke, narrated by Elliot Hill and "Monstrous Beauty" written by Elizabeth Fama, narrated by Katherine Kellgren.
The jury found that "Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian immerses listeners in a world populated with fairies, trolls, and Opal Koboi—Artemis Fowl's arch-enemy. Nathaniel Parker's energetic performance conveys the rollicking adventures listeners have come to expect from Artemis Fowl."

Hello all. I woke up the other day and realised I have actually moved to Narnia. It's unbelievably beauteous here in the Gloucestershire countryside. Unfortunately I do have to brave the weather up to London for rehearsals most days. It is going well. Helen and Stephen and Peter are all fantastically interesting to work with. I'd almost forgotten how brave I have to be in rehearsals. It's not just about finding the right way of doing things it's also about finding the wrong way, or just another way, & being bold enough to try other peoples' ideas and not be afraid to fail, spectacularly sometimes.
That's it, just wishing everyone well. Bye
