The cost of Nat's audio books; a Complaint. was created by sweetlittlepixie
For the first time ever, I'm going to have a grumble about one of Nat's audios... :pinch:

I have no doubt whatsoever Nat's newest audio The Water Horse will be wonderful and am looking forward to getting my hot little mits on it. But, but, but...

TWO CDs FOR NIGH ON A TENNER - i.e. £10 for just 2 hours of listening?? And maybe postage on top of that?? I don't think so...

Not when, for example, you could pick up when newly published Nat's William Brodrick audios for not much more than that - and that was an unabridged 6 hours' worth.

According to his own words Nat may be getting the same money for recording an abridged audio as he would for working 3 times as long for an unabridged one.. but people will just vote with their feet. Value for money works both ways.

Though it will pain me to do so, I shall hold off buying The Water Horse until either I can get it through my library (which is not going to happen as they rarely spend taxpayers' money on abridged audios), or it's available second-hand in which case either way, if he gets a percentage of new sales, Nat loses out on a bob or two.

For a total Nat-audio addict this will be a trying time indeed...

Hi Pixie, :)

your remark is critical however. ;) I agree with you. But as an addicted fan I think I also shall buy this audio book.
I try to be positive and if I compare the price for this two CDs with the cost of one music CD, I think the price is okay because two CDs full with Nat's wonderful reading is not worse than good music.
Okay, perhaps no convincing argumentation, more a self deception.;)

Hoping the next audio book will an unabridged one again.

:) :) :)

Hi pixie,

last week I saw Stardust and my ticket had the prize of 9€...only to see and hear Nat for 3,5 min. So for me it isn`t too much to pay 15€/10 pounds for 2 hours of Nat`s voice. The ticket is out of all proportion to the enjoy of 2 hours of his timbre.:woohoo:

Have fun and greetings

Martina:laugh: ;) ;)

I have to agree with Sweetlittlepixie! That is why when the movie, "The Water Horse", comes out in a couple of weeks, I will be taking my family to see it. The previews on this movie are sooo cute!!! I will probably buy the movie, too.

I checked out www.play.com and their cost for 'The Water Horse' is an improvement on the BBC and Amazon - £6.99 with *free* delivery.

Not sure if this price applies to UK buyers only though..
