Nat's audio of this very thought-provoking and excellent John Wyndham classic is now available on CD (at last!)

It's currently discounted at less than half price from www.audiobookcollection.com.

Hi Pixi,
only want to tell you that I have heard this audio book in the meantime. Reading the description of the story I was not sure that I would like it, because I am no fan of fantasy novels. Because of Nat's reading I have learnt again, that it is not true.
I have liked the story so much, that I have ordered the book in German language, because I want to know all about the parts, I have not understood so well.
Thanks again for the hint.

I really liked Nat's reading of this. Funnily enough, the day I finished listening to it, they broadcast the old black-and-white film of this on TV, so I got to compare...

Despite George Sandes' superb voice and diction as the 'lord of the manor', I preferred the book. Beautifully written.

What's more, even though we're way past the Cold War, there's still much food for thought in Wyndham's book.

I just got this too.. There's one policeman in the beginning that sounds like Mulch Diggums.
