Wide Sargasso Sea was a common late night movie not long after it was released. Wasn't very good as a cure for insomnia but then neither is anything else Nat's done. And that's a good thing. I did, however, find my attention drifting when Nat wasn't on screen.

I bought this only because Nathaniel was in it and I'm so glad I did.
I mean come on, besides the naked scenes (we need more of them!) the sight of him in that pond getting all frisky and sexy and wet and (fans self) those old-fashioned clothes and him on a horse are worth it.
Besides Nathaniel, I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the movie but always worth it for a re-watch.
Has anyone read the book?

I'm watching Game of Thrones with my daughter (16) right now with all the "unsightly" sex scenes. To make it clear to my daughter that there is also beautiful sex, we want to watch Wild Sargasso Sea afterwards.
Being common was sold out.
Folly suits me much better.

It's a great movie, I really enjoyed most of it. I didn't like the ending as much. I would have preferred them to say in Jamaica, but I know that's not the storyline. I'd say after GoT (which I've only heard about) this would be some nice relief and of course Nathaniel is so sexy in it.
