Well it´s late, but better late than never!! Welcome to this wonderful site.
I am from germany and it´s very interesting where the germans are going in the past.
If you ever visit germany mayby Brmerhaven it could be interesting to visit the Auswandererhaus.. meening the House of emigration. Mayby you find the relatives of Baden Baden on the computer.

Isn't the last scene the saddest thing? Lynley looking all dejected and Barbara all lost and lonley. Great acting all around....
The only thing that bothers me is that inn real life, they wouldn't have sent all those coppers for Lynley. Hillier would have called him to get him bum back to the MET asap and then they would have dealt with things discreetly.

Loved the scene anyway.

I saw this episode last night and what a roller coaster. Poor Tommy really is in the wars in this one, but OHHH is there anything sexier than a venerable man who will open up to his friend. I've re-watched that scene in Barbara's flat more times than I care to admit and that "we both do" at the end (swoon).
I don't suppose anyone has the actual dialogue anywhere? I've looked online? I want to write a fanfiction on it but want the correct wording. It was just the best scene between them ever.

I might be able to help you. I have been busy adding quotes to the various ILM episodes on IMDb (Internet Movie Database) and that includes this from Word of God.
Sergeant Barbara Havers: I've never been married. I've never had anything you could call a relationship... . so you find something else that gives you the reason to get up in the morning. And I have that, don't I?
Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley: We both do.
Waiting for the call from beyond. Waiting for something with meaning to come through soon.

Thanks, Ginny
I have that part, but I'm looking for the dialogue from when Tommy knocks on Barbara's door, when he talks about Helen & Christine and that heart stopping ending (ahhhh so damn adorable)
Thanks
