SatNav Man was created by sweetlittlepixie
I've recently started using a satellite navigation system for driving, and it occurred to me that it would be rather lovely if Nat were one of the available voices you could choose to issue directions.. .

"Go left at the roundabout... second exit" or "After 300 yards, turn right.."

*THUDD*

And of course if you *accidentally* took a wrong turning, to get you back on track he would just have to talk some more.. :silly:

Hi,

wonderful idea... Nat´s warm voice to listen while driving. Iin Germany we have this system only with the german synchronous voices of Bruce Willis or Julia Roberts.

Greetings dear Pixie

I found this article on a 'gadget-techie' website:

"Which celebrities do we want on our sat nav systems?"

Personally I'm not bothered which voice system tells me the way to my destination as long as I get there. But it seems like I'm in a minority, with the great British public enjoying a familiar voice to guide them through the country. And the most popular of these belong to Joanna Lumley and Sean Connery.

The Ab Fab actress and everyone's favourite Bond clocked up a quarter of all votes in a survey commissioned by Packard Bell, with Stephen Fry and Terry Wogan second and third most popular male voices. Dame Judi Dench and Dawn French had the second and third most popular women's voices in the survey. Connery apparently rated highly because he has 'old-school cool', while Joanna Lumley scored highly through her 'relaxing' voice.

But spare a thought for those at the other end of the spectrum - the most annoying voice belongs to Big Brother hanger-on Jade Goody, closely followed by Joe Pasquale and Lloyd Grosman (14%).

The survey was carried out by YouGov on behalf of Packard Bell, with the results based on the opinions of 2000 respondents.

Most popular male voices (as voted by men and women combined)
1. Sean Connery (23%)
2. Stephen Fry (16%)
3. Terry Wogan (11%)
4. George Clooney (9%)
5. Sean Bean (7%)

Most popular female voices (as voted for by men and women combined)
1. Joanna Lumley (22%)
2. Judi Dench (20%)
3. Dawn French (14%)
4. Mariella Fostrup (5%)
5. Billie Piper and Liz Hurley (both 4%)

Hi TAG

funny details.

Sean Connery is also on a list of Hollywood best british actor,(no 1) followed by Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, Pierce Prosnan, Jude Law etc.

His" old school cool" in every way, mmh!

Hugh Grant`s voice isn`t really sexy.....in my ears.
Perhaps the Brits discover the spectra in Nat´s voice one day.

Greetings
Martina;)

I don't know who most of them are-but I could go with Sean or George, Judi Dench or Liz Hurley (that's the one who used to see Hugh Grant, right?)
I cannot remember what Joanna Lumley sounded like-I haven't seen an AbFab in ages. All I remember is "Sweetie Sweetie Darling...." but I still can't think of the sounds of voices....
A SatNav that says that would be fun...
I'd like one that sings, too...

That would be pretty cool. I actually would consider getting a Nav system in my car then!
