Recently saw this film at the library. It was ok, i am not a real big fan of period romances. Anyone else have as opinion?

I just had to go read the description, and it sounds like it might be worth a rect, just for the sheer entertainment value of seeing Nat as a villain. WIll have to check out Netflix to see if this one is available.

Hi,

I have seen this film some weeks ago, but I have not understood enough to
tell you much about it. You know I am German and the film I have bought has
only Dutch subtitles. So I am not able to translate many of the words I
have not understood.
But it was interesting to see Nat as such an evil person.

I always wanted to know was this picture worth seeing. Seeing Nat playing the part of a villain might be interesting.

Hi
Few months ago they were giving this film free with the daily paper. I enjoyed the film and Nat plays a brilliant villian. But you can't help feeling sorry for him in the end, even though he got what he deserved.

I agree Nat played the villain character very well but Catherine Cookson's writing is a bit too predicatable for me. Not up there with Hardy and FFTMC, though 'Jude the Obscure' can be quite bleak.
