This thread is about TV Book Club 8.1 / 10 video.

Interesting bit about film adoptions of books. That's so true that a novel is not the same that comes out on screen. As a reader I build my own vision that's not necessarily the same as the screenwriter's/director's.

I must also agree. I have read books that became movies and the screen doesnt do them justice at all. Some things are just better off left to the imagination.

Hi:)!

For my part I prefer to read the book after watching the movie, if I like it.

Most time the books are better than the films, because they are more detailed.

I read Lovely Bones and disliked it, so wouldn't go to see the movie, whether good or bad- :P

I read "The Hobbit" to my kids and always loved what they said when asked if they wanted to see the movie - they said 'no, it might ruin the picture in our heads'. That about sums it up for me :)

I really enjoyed Episode 8 of the Book Club - more depth, better discussions, a little more serious topic, as Nenne said, in between. Would like more of that approach. It was a more relaxing listen than it can sometimes be, too. Thought Nathaniel did brilliantly, very natural. Everyone was really good :) It had a very inviting 'curl up and listen/chat' kind of feel to it. Liked their guest very much, too.

Thank you Jessika for the 8 ep.:cheer:
I like both, to read the book, and to watch the movie.
But this is right, first you got your own picture and imagination.
I know some friends they never watch the movie, they want to have only the own pictures.
Greetings and Gl├╝ck auf!!
