Here's some good news for all our audio enthusiasts. Dick King-Smith's audio adaptation of The Water Horse read by Nathaniel Parker is due to come out on January 7, 2008. BBC's audio department is issuing this children's book in an unabridged version on two CDs.

The book is about a Scottish girl and her brother who discover an egg on the shore of a loch containing an unknown species. What emerges out of this egg is a "water horse," a mythical sea monster. But as the rapidly growing monster becomes harder to conceal from those who see it as a threat, our little hero must find new ways to protect the misunderstood creature.

The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep is due to come out in US cinemas from December 25th, 2007. Read more about the upcoming movie on the official site or on imdb. It will be brought to the screen by director Jay Russell, starring Alex Etel as the lonesome Scottish boy Angus MacMorrow. Brian Cox, Emily Watson, David Morrissey and Ben Chaplin complete the cast.
