In the 8.15pm drama slot for Sunday night ITV1's period police show Heartbeat won, which averaged 5.5 million viewers and a 24% share over the hour. BBC1's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries start of its final two episodes averaged 4.6 million viewers and a 20% share between 8.15pm and 9.45pm making it number two in that Sunday evening race. Ross Kemp SAS drama Ultimate Force drew 3.5 million viewers and a 16% share on ITV. On Channel 4 from 9.15pm, the terrestrial premiere of Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line drew 2.4 million viewers and a 13% share over two and a half hours.

The last outing for TILM attracted 5.4 million viewers and a 23% share between 8pm and 9.30pm on BBC1. This was followed by a re-run of The Vicar of Dibley, which pulled in 4 million viewers and a 17% share. Heartbeat on ITV1 attracted 5.3 million and a 23% share between 8pm and 9pm. This was followed by the last episode of Ultimate Force which drew 3.7 million and a 17% share.
