As the first episode of ITV's new thriller-drama has been broadcast, the viewing figures come in. I'm quite happy to be able to tell you that the show had a magnificent start as Anthony Horowitz's new drama proved too strong for other programmes like "Case Histories" on Monday evening, according to the latest audience data.

Injustice, starring James Purefoy, Dervla Kerwin and Nathaniel Parker, averaged 5.32 million viewers (21.47%) for ITV1 from 21:00 and 266,700 (1.46%) on ITV1+1 (that's the additional ITV station that shows the programme with one hour delay) according to overnight Barb figures.

The programme outperformed "Case Histories" in the 21:00 hour, after the Jason Isaacs-starring crime drama mustered 4.46 million (18%) on BBC One.

Injustice lost more than 1.5 million viewers over the period it was on, starting with an audience of 6.04 million (24.63%) in the first 15 minutes and ending with 4.47 million (18.16%) in the final quarter of an hour.

Overall, it was above ITV1 and ITV1 HD’s slot average of 4.82 million (18.99%) for the year to date.

On the terrestrial channels, Anthony Horowitz's drama Injustice continued on Tuesday with 4.28 million viewers tuning in (18.8%) on ITV1 in the 21:00 hour, down 1.04 million on the previous night's premiere. A further 147,000 (0.8%) watched the show on ITV1+1.

However, Injustice was strong enough to outperform "Junior Doctors: Your Life In Their Hands", after the former BBC Three programme healed 3.09 million (13.6%) on BBC One from 21:00.

It slumped to 3.76 million (15.2%) on ITV1 in the 21:00 hour on Wednesday, down 520,000 on the previous night's episode. A further 252,000 (1.4%) watched the show on ITV1+1.

"The Duke At 90", featuring Fiona Bruce exploring the incredible life of Prince Philip, averaged 5.01 million (21.1%) for BBC One in the 21:00 hour, beating the penultimate episode of Anthony Horowitz's drama Injustice on Thursday, which had 4.41 million (18.6%) on ITV1 and 242,000 (1.4%) on +1.

It ended with a respectable 4.6 million viewers on Friday night, according to overnight data.

The five-part drama series logged 4.43 million (19.3%) in the 21:00 hour, adding 164,000 on ITV1 +1.

Injustice's rating was enough to pip "Have I Got News For You", after the topical panel show amused 4.41 million (19%) at 9pm. An "Outnumbered" repeat had 3.06 million (13.5%) at 21:30.
