SITGES2010Nick Tomnay's thriller has been selected for the Sitges 43 Official Fantàstic Selection - In Competition. The 43rd annual SITGES International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Spain) kicks off from October 7th and runs through October 17th with an impressive line up. In competition are Gregg Araki’s "Kaboom", Christopher Smith’s "Black Death", Jalmari Helander’s "Rare Exports", Quentin Dupieux’s "Rubber" and Takashi Miike’s "13 Assassins" among many others.

 

41871-DJust a rather short news bit to let you know that Land Girls will be out on a region one encoded two-disc-boxed DVD set in the U.S. nationwide from September 28th, 2010. The DVD is not being listed with any additional material (e.g. interviews etc.) on it.

lewis.jpgAs the actual broadcast of Lewis via PBS is almost done, the PBS Shop advertises the latest series of Lewis to come out on a region one encoded DVD box.

This edition will differ from the UK edition - it will have five episodes with the titles: 1. Counter Culture Blues 2. The Dead Of Winter, 3. Dark Matter, 4. Your Sudden Death Question and 5. Falling Darkness. The total running time is 450 minutes on three DVDs. This DVD features subtitles in English (SDH). You can now pre-order through the PBS Shop or any other retailer you might prefer.

 

Good news for our American members - Lewis' episode "The Dead of Winter" will be broadcast on September, 5 2010 from 21:00 - 22:30 ET on the MASTERPIECE Series via PBS stations.  Nat will be a guest-star in this new episode. Series four of this hit drama sees Inspector Robbie Lewis (Kevin Whately) and his partner DS Hathaway (Laurence Fox) investigating more murder mysteries against the glorious backdrop of Oxford.

Joining  in is a star studded cast including series regulars Clare Holman and Rebecca Front and guest stars Sophie Ward, Alan Davies, Rupert Graves, Nathaniel Parker, Diana Quick, Robert Hardy, Timothy West, John Sessions, Niamh Cusack, Nicholas Farrell, Juliet Aubrey and Stella Gonet. Please make sure to check your local listings for your broadcast dates.

Finally here it is: Land Girls is out on DVD in the USA. Thanks to a member from the States I'm more than happy to give you some news on a brand-new DVD box. Set in England during the Second World War, Land Girls is a five-part drama that captures the sacrifices and experiences of four young women in the Women's Land Army. Sharing hardships and working alongside captured POWs, Annie, Bea, Joyce and Nancy toil in the fields to grow food for the war effort.

Land Girls was commissioned by the BBC to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the start of World War II. It stars Nathaniel Parker and Sophie Ward. The box comes with two DVDs, has a total running time of 223 minutes and is region one encoded.
