oliviers awardsWonderful news broke yesterday at the Mayfair Hotel in London when the Olivier Award nominations were announced. The Audience has been nominated in five categories including Dame Helen Mirren for Best Actress, Richard McCabe for Best Supporting Actor, Stephen Daldry for Best Director, Bob Crowley for Best Costume Design and last but not least The Audience for Best New Play sponsored by MasterCard. Congratulations for the well-deserved nominations and fingers crossed for the ceremony night.


The awards will be announced on April 28, 2018 at the Opera House at Covent Garden, London. The awards show will be hosted by Sheridan Smith and Hugh Bonneville. The whole of London's West End will be there celebrating the best of the best of last year's theatre offerings. There's going to be live coverage via BBC Radio 2 from 18:30 (GMT) – great news for all international fans who will be able to tune in. There's also going to be a TV broadcast packed with highlights via ITV right after the ceremony has finished. Detailed programme information will be available closer to the actual date.

For those lucky ones who are in London on that day please do note that there's a chance to watch things as they happen via a live stream in Covent Garden piazza.
