The yet-to-be-broadcast and made-for-TV-adaptation of Sadie Jones' successful and award-winning novel will be released on DVD from July 20, 2015. The DVD is ready for pro-ordering via amazon and other online outlets. This edition will be region 2 encoded and has a running time of 180 minutes. It is fair to say that the broadcast via BBC One is imminent; I shall give you more information as soon as it becomes available.

The TV-adaptation stars Jessica Brown Findlay, George MacKay, Greg Wise, Hattie Morahan, Nathaniel Parker, Leanne Best, Jessica Barden, Ancuta Breaban, Teresa Churcher, Karol Steele, Charlotte Mason-Apps, Chris Groundsell and Theo Cowan. The 2x90-minute drama is produced by Blueprint Pictures and directed by Iain Softley.

The story revolves around Lewis who is 10 years old when Elizabeth his beloved mother dies, leaving him alone with a father, Gilbert he barely knows after years away at war. When Gilbert remarries the fragile Alice ill-equipped for her new life, Lewis relies on his friendship with neighboring children Tamsin and Kit.

But despite their own father Dicky not being all he seems, Tamsin and Kit negotiate a safe childhood whilst a grief-stricken Lewis sets about destroying his. All but abandoned by his father, events in Lewis's teenage years begin to spiral out of control and take him further and further away from the help that he needs.
