WOW, that was damn nearly too much to pack into one year wasn't it? Putin has tried to destroy the world as we know it, but has come up against a huge nation who has said NO! I don't think he's used to that do you? Finally getting rid of Boris was a sort of highlight, but as they say, be careful what you wish for. Truss and Kwarteng. Holy Shit! What happened to the UK will, I hope, make some on the right reflect about the greater good. It was the Tory membership who voted for the tax cuts, promised by T & K, to fill their pockets, rather than take notice of a former chancellor, Rishi, who they all heralded when he gave so many so much. What a debacle. And it has left UK Ltd in a dire strait. Problem for me is that Rishi may have been chancellor and have understood how STUPID Truss' plans were, but a lot of the reason for incredible mess we are in is down to his reductive policies as Chancellor. Very little promise of sunshine for the UK, unless you are one of the ever growing number of under taxed billionaires. I support the Nurses and all NHS staff and Ambulance workers, Fire-fighters, train drivers!
Jason Ruddy, the director of the short-film "Hunting Bears" just published his work via youtube.
Please feel invited to have - several - looks right here. This is an incredible piece of art and I know that Jason will make his way as a remarkable stroy-teller in the moving images business with more than simply superficial "plots".
Heads up and thanks for giving us fans the opportunity to see your brave piece of art. It touched me a great deal... but you all make up your own mind. Comments are most welcome right here or via youtube.
Cheers!
Well, It's been a while, and to be totally honest, I'm not surprised. I have never been good at updating have I? Mea Culpa. I think one of the reasons is lack of extremely exciting news from Parker Town. Obviously I could fill you in on the minutiae of life, but I don't want to. There is SO much going on, but not a huge amount of it refers to acting. Family, politics, obviously, and my attempts to be a modern HYPHENATE.
Love that word. When I was a kid I had no choice but to act. Simple. Olly, my darling but oh so clever and prodigious slightly elder brother, could do all things. Of course we both did sport, and were pretty good. Olly was sodding Brilliant at rugby and tennis and Fives (an elitist version of squash, played with the hands!) and acting and academia. Not that I was at all intimidated. No pressure there Ol, thanks! But in the artistic field, he could write and perform, he could sing, maybe not the best, but he wrote his own songs and played guitar and piano. What I am getting at is that the boy could have gone in any direction. Rather like our glorious Pa, he was multi talented. The only problem was, when he said he wanted to act, write and direct there was a firm NO from the world. He had to choose. I remember well, one of my dad's best friends, Frank Hauser, who was a fantastic director in his day saying exactly this to him. "You can't do both, you have to choose" But NOW?
OH MY GOD!!!!!
Hilary was just the most spectacularly imaginative person I have ever met. She will be the closest person to Genius I will ever have the privilege to work with. There was always something of William Blake about her. I have been touched to have her in my life. I can't believe it. So sorry Gerald. She gave us all such fun and excitement. Love you Hils. xx
Well, that's the end of an era isn't it? Her Majesty. She was the most extraordinary woman. The whole world respected her. Some may not agree with the monarchy as an institution, but very few didn't view Her as the exception. So many lives has been touched and felt special thanks to her. I truly hope Charles will become as strong a figurehead. The anti royalists will probably now want to curtail his influence. He will have no power, but his position is one of power. His activism in the face of commercial greed, whether it be in the world of business, architecture or the environment has always been strong, and now I read he has to stop making his thoughts felt. WHY?
